Apply for a summer research position at Tufts University

If you are a registered university student from National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan and are interested in conducting research at Tufts University, this program is perfect for you. Please consult your advisor to find a host PI at Tufts and initiate discussion with him/her on the availability of a short-term summer research position. The program runs for 10 weeks from early June to mid-August, ideally 6/1/2025-8/10/2025.

 

Application for this program requires an agreement from both your home and host institutes. The application deadline for the 2024-2025 program is 3/1/2025. Before your application, please check the PIs and communicate with them to discuss your interest and possible research topics. 


 

Please prepare and send the following information before the deadline 3/1/2025 to Professor C. Hwa Chang at hchang@ece.tufts.edu.

  2. Your transcript
  3. Statement of your research experiences and research plan (Host PI, research topic, etc.) at Tufts University (1 page)
  4. Recommendation letter from your advisor or the department chair of your home institute
  5. Identify a PI from Tufts at 3 above. Or better yet, a communication e-mail between you and Host PI at Tufts.

 

Ideal duration of visit for the 2025 summer semester is 6/1-8/10/2025. Since the semester final examinations end on June 20 at NCKU, it is possible to conduct the research from 6/23 – 8/30 (10 weeks). We will assist you on the program and VISA application.

If you are and will be a registered student at Tufts University in Fall 2025 and are interested in conducting research in Taiwan, please check out the PIs at NCKU.


 

You may contact your academic advisor or professors here at Tufts working in related fields for recommendation. We encourage you to initiate discussion with the Taiwan PIs on the availability to do short term research in Taiwan in 2025 summer. All Taiwan PIs are familiar with the program and will provide information on the project and duration of your research, ideally from June 1 to August 20, 2025.

 

Please indicate that you are supported by the Tufts-NCKU Taiwan program. Your tuition, fees and housing will be waived or compensated by NCKU.
